During the Cello Biennale Amsterdam an extra stage will be realized on the terrace of the Muziekgebouw: the Cello Yurt. Every day you can attend exclusive (max. 30 visitors), short surprise concerts of 45 minutes.
Een Yurt is a traditional round tent used by the itinerant nomads in Central Asia. During the Cello Biennale Amsterdam, the touring festival cellists Zlatomir Fung, Boris Andrianov, Lidy Blijdorp, Ophelie Gaillard, Ashley Bathgate, Brannon Cho, Victor Julien-Laferri`ere, Matt Haimovitz, Kian Soltani, Giovanni Sollima and Von Thord will perform in the Cello Yurt to give a (solo) concert. Which cellist plays when and what is played remains a secret until the last moment.
